Positive experience: First time going, at first couldn't find staircase and got confused but as soon as I found the stairs and went up saw a great gym and would recommend for others especially beginners as it has everything you need.

Positive experience: Good Gym, lots of equipment and everyone is friendly. Ridiculously hot in the summer, and ridiculously cold in the winter, but that's the fault of the building. Needs a lying hamstring curl in place of the seated one though :)

Negative experience: I had a disappointing experience with the management, who were rude and unprofessional. They interrupted my workout to confront me about an issue that isn't clearly stated in the rules. This lack of communication and respect really affected my overall experience.

Fantastic experience: Honestly friendly staff and friendly regulars always pushing you past your limits. There is a smaller range of equipment then some gyms but because it's always tidy tand doesnt smell it's way better then most gyms. Practically live there it's the best priced membership just dont look in the mirror on the smith machine if you wanna keep good thoughts about your legs From your friendly reg the guy with the small calves

Negative experience: Cable machines need an oil, stiff as anything. No tricep pushdown machine, no rope grips for the cables. Mirrors for free weights have squat racks and smith machines in the way. PTIs are happy to watch people load 200kg onto the leg press and strain 2 reps, without calling out reckless behaviour. Solid 2 stars

Positive experience: Went for a look through, nice range of equipment, clean and tidy, good membership rates, haven't decided to join yet as I have a home gym ...but could use the variety that this gym h as on offer.

Positive experience: If you're wanting a sauna and aren't sure about joining because there isn't one, worry not. The weights room has been a steady 30 degrees all summer because there is 0 air con evidently. Lol. Other than that an average city fit. Busy during peak hours. Would get a 4 without air temp issue.

Positive experience: Non peak hours you can use all the equipments without waiting. But peak hours... No way..... But then again I think that's the case with all city fitness centres.

Positive experience: Love the atmosphere and the staff were really helpful when I came in to ask for membership! I do wish there was a way to regulate the air inside, since people use it to work out. There's no doubt that they would be sweating, this can cause bad BO emitting around the room which makes me nauseous. Other than the smell, everything is almost perfect!

Positive experience: This is a really good basic city fitness club in that the equipment for cardio and weights is there - the timetable has a selection of classes but there isn't the hot yoga option. There aren't queues at the early AM slots for cardio and the staff are friendly and try to assist you where they can

Positive experience: Because of covid haven't been able to go to the gym therefore automatic payments stopped but thought they would only start up when I start going back, but automatic payment started up again in may!???

Positive experience: A great gym to belong to but to be honest (and I admit I am Australian) it could be warmer. Even after doing over an hour of exercise I still felt chilled there and rainwater was coming in a falling on me from open windows while I was working on the fitness circuit machines. It wouldn't hurt to warm the place up a little.

Negative experience: Cramped and smelly gym. The personal trainers do not seem qualified (in fact there is an advertisement in the men's bathroom saying that the gym is looking to employ unqualified personal trainers)

Positive experience: It's cheap and has lots of gear. The facilities aren't flash but they've got enough space for me to find things to repeatedly pick up and put down.

Fantastic experience: Two floors of equipment, a large studio for group sessions as well as a spin studio. There are extra machines of all the most popular types, so you rarely have to wait for anything. The bottom floor is mostly cardio, with a large number of a variety of machines. The top floor is weights, with many ways to complete the same exercise depending on preference. Good ventilation in the summer too.

Fantastic experience: Very popular gym in UH, busy early mornings (5.00am to 8.00am), but plenty of cardio machines. Friendly staff who are in early to allow you to make the most of bringing your guest if you have the Black Membership - unlike Petone. Not a good amount (ie: number) of classes, but instructors are QUALITY.

Positive experience: Interior is a little worn, but all new equipment makes this a good choice for a gym. Get in early to avoid the busiest period with after work/school crowds

Negative experience: Planned to do two of their classes Saturday morning before I went to work. The class was supposed to start at 9:30am and ended up starting well after 10am.... if you have a time schedule to keep and wish to workout then I suggest not relying on these classes.
