Fantastic experience: If you want a gym with a supportive and friendly team environment, this is your spot! I’m a class girl through and through and highly rate Flex NP and their class vibes. Everyone is so friendly and work together no matter the fitness level. If you’re new, highly recommend the Challenges to get to know everyone a bit more and get into a good groove!

Positive experience: They defiently need bigger space. There is far too many people at the gym, and when there's classes going on there's no space to do warm ups or stretches before a workout. Almost need two seperate gyms one set up now for the classes and another just machines gym. Overall it's not bad, have everything you need and good staff just could doo with some improvements for the ammount of people around.

Fantastic experience: I’ve tried a lot of gyms and Flex NP has got it just right. This gym strikes the perfect balance between being your super-friendly local hang out and a professional, clean training facility. The machines are well maintained and there are plenty of squat racks. They also have an abundance of group classes on continual rotation from HIIT, to Boxfit, pilates and everything in between. I love adding yoga to my weekly training as a way to balance me out and the instructors are totally accommodating to all levels. These guys stock a solid range of supplements, can rustle you up a post-workout smoothie and are one of the few facilities around with a decent sauna. This place actually makes you want to come to the gym instead of it being a chore!

Fantastic experience: Honestly, I can’t say a bad word about this place - previously I had never been a gym goer but the team and facilities at Flex New Plymouth have changed that. I love the classes and the fact that there is something for everyone regardless of your fitness level - the trainers are always happy to cater an exercise to you if you need an alternative! Everyone here is so supportive and welcoming and coming to the gym has now become a way of life and I wouldn’t go anywhere else!

Negative experience: - No parking - Two classes running so members only have 7-8 machines and one squat bar to use - No cleaning products to wash down gear after use - No gym music at all. Love flex gyms, but this one is terrible.
Hey Nate, thank you for your visit and apologies that you had this experience. We would just like to clarify a couple points. - We are the only flex that offers a hot yoga/pilates studio and our classes are our priority. Therefore a handful of times a week we do run multiple classes at the same time. Outside of these times the entire facility is available for our members to use. With a 75% + female membership base that predominantly use classes we have to provide what our members want. - When yoga is running we do turn the gym music down as a balancing act, our members are used to this and if members are after gym music they usually train outside of yoga class times which are displayed clearly on the wall at the club. -We have multiple cleaning stations available around the club, they are the latest technology of biodegradable wet wipes (we no longer use spray bottles). There are 3 stations wall mounted and may have been missed if it was your first time to the club. We can direct you to these if you are back in.- The parking in new plymouth as a whole is limited, however we do have other parking options, which our team can tell you about if you are back in at any stage. Once again we apologise that your experience wasnt what you expected, however all flex clubs operate quite differently, some prioritize classes more than others depending on their local market. Taking this and some of our other clarifications into account we hope you will remove this review as our local market we are trying to target (the ones reading such reviews) are people predominantly wanting to use classes and yoga/pilates. Positive experience: Love the look of this place and very inviting. A member now for 12 months or so and starting to see some slippage in maintenance. Some machines not working, wipes not fill. Has something changed?

Positive experience: Meh, the gym layout felt a bit disjointed. Had 5 of the same workout rigs (power racks) bit of an overkill. The amenities were brilliant though

Unfortunately as we are predominantly a classes and personal coaching orientated facility we have put a greater emphasis on functional equipment (e.g. extra squat racks) as these cater for larger groups of people and a wider array of exercise options. Fantastic experience: Cool place with a great view of the sea, coffee cart, and barber. Great combination of services, and good quality equipment. Only downside is that parking is sometimes insufficient.

Fantastic experience: While on holiday I stopped into Flex New Plymouth for a workout it looked amazing inside!! Outside inside flow feeling. Beautiful bathrooms, Sauna, Very Clean and Friendly staff. I especially loved when you leave you can grab a coffee to go at the door step from Yellow trailer or enjoy inside with the cafe like seat setting. Aswell as a Barber on-site.

Fantastic experience: top notch place & awesome staff, not many places you can exercise, work from (with free wifi) while enjoying the best coffee in town and get an awesome hair cut from all under the one roof! would definitely recommend.

Positive experience: This gym is very clean, it has got a barber a coffee trailer which is also known as the yellow trailer and free wifi and has the one and only hot yoga in New Plymouth. As well as that it is a 24 hour gym! Also they have got a extremely friendly staff.

Fantastic experience: Very clean, awesome equipment. Has plenty of separate showers/bathrooms rather than stalls haha. Has a sauna. The staff are very friendly and helpful

Fantastic experience: This is a club for exactly what you need. Loosing that extra kilo or getting that extra curve, having an expert advice about fitness or relaxing in a sauna. They also have great coffee and smoothies in their healthy bar. Changing rooms are of the top quality. Check their latest stretching machine, which is unique for Taranaki. And they also have a barber shop!

Negative experience: Not very tactful, don't really listen to what your goals are. They assume you are overweight and straight jacket you into a programme. You get the feeling that older people are problematic members.
