Positive experience: I couldn't validate my parking a second time in the same day (3hrs in between) even if there was empty spots outside. I had to leave. Not their fault, the parking is bad and sometimes we have to circle it and wait before getting a spot. The gym itself is great and i have nothing to say.

Negative experience: If you want good quality shower after your workout consider another place. Showers are dying there like in old cold house with bad water cylinder… And you get only one lonely hook to hang your stuff on while taking shower ;)

Fantastic experience: This gym is top notch! I’ve trained in a lot of different gyms and this gym is the most well equipped I’ve ever trained in. Their selection of machines is outstanding. The staff are friendly, too.

Fantastic experience: Every piece of gym equipment you can think of and some that you didn't know existed. If we lived in NP we would be here every day. Amazing facility.

Positive experience: Great Equipment, but a Mixed Experience The gym definitely scores high on equipment: the machines are top-notch, and the size of the gym is appealing. For anyone who loves quality equipment, this is a 10/10. The staff were very friendly and helpful, which definitely added to the experience. However, personally, the gym didn’t fully appeal to me. The atmosphere felt quite commercial, and some of the younger visitors (mostly early to mid-20s) were often more focused on their phones than on working out. They would frequently block machines while scrolling, which was sometimes really annoying. That said, the other gym-goers were fine and didn’t detract from the experience. The entrance was a bit confusing; I initially went to the wrong door and had no one around to guide me. The day pass is quite expensive at around 10€, and on top of that, I got a parking fine of 30 €, which I still don’t fully understand. Overall, considering the cost and experience, I’d rate it 3.5 out of 5 stars – excellent equipment and friendly staff, but the atmosphere among some of the younger crowd, and the way machines were blocked, left something to be desired.

Fantastic experience: Decent gym, clean, lots of machines.

Negative experience: Car Park was confusing - Only 30min signs everywhere so went and parked in a 60min out on the street and walked in. Then walk in the front door and there is a 90min parking sign if you enter your license plate… Tried to do a casual visit as I’m visiting from overseas but they didn’t accept cash Went to the aqua centre which took cash and had free parking with no limit

Fantastic experience: Really nice and peaceful place to come into thoroughly enjoying it away from all the noise of most buisy gyms

Negative experience: $85 per workout session thanks to the new parking system. Don't bother with this gym any more.

Negative experience: An OK gym, with good facilities. Overrun with teenagers though. If you're gonna join, only get the very basic option. Not being able to use machines or validate your parking because it's so busy with teenagers, when you pay a premium, is rather frustrating.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been working out in gyms all around the world and this one is definitely the best bang for your buck in town. Huge variety of equipment with basic Hammer Strength machines but also some treasures like the old Nautilus rows and presses! Staff is also very friendly. Would definitely go back, whenever I’m in the area!

Fantastic experience: Between City Fitness and Simplicity there so many training options. PTs are available and group sessions throughout the week.

Negative experience: The gym and its facilities are great, no doubt, but the parking system is a total nightmare. Every time you go, you have to register your car on a tablet before 6 PM, just to get 1.5 hours of parking. If you're even five minutes late, forget to register, or if the tablet isn’t working, you’re slapped with an $85 fine. And don't even think showing them you're a regular gym member will help. I had to appeal over FOUR times, and argue non-stop for more than 1.5 month before I finally got the ticket canceled. The gym doesn't care either – when you ask for help, they just throw their hands up and say the parking system is separate, so tough luck. The same goes for the parking and smart compliance. They say the gym and parking aren’t related, so it is your issue. It’s clear this whole system is just a money-grab, designed to screw you over. If you get a ticket, just know you’ll be stuck appealing over and over again, wasting your time and energy, until they finally back down. But don’t pay them anything.

Positive experience: Really good. I just feel they need some wooden poles for stretching and flexibility

Negative experience: The new parking system is a trap. They just rip you off with $85 every time. There's this tablet that you can enter you license plat in it but it doesn't work most of the time and you need to try every 5 minutes. Can you concentrate on your workout like this? Well, I can't. Then there's maximum of 90 minutes. 91 minutes and you have to pay $85 fine. Very good source of income for this "Smart Compliance" with ripping off patients and gym goers. I'll start looking for other gym options. This is costing me too much. Mentally and financially.

Negative experience: Decent gym, more needs to be done to ensure people are aware there is a quota for the number of parks allocated to the gym. When I queiried with staff if my parking had been validated for 90mins I was assured it was and ended up with a steep fine. Overall not worth it

Fantastic experience: Saturday evening after 19:00 was really nice with 20 to 30 people. Nice and quiet so had free equipment to choose from.

Negative experience: nice facilities. parking is a trap for unknowing visitors, beware! Cameras operated, use normal street park. Got done 2x when visiting over xmas. The machine for validation wasn't working, according to parking control it was fully allocated for a limited quota. There where no other business open in the complex, as it was public holiday...

The signage clearly states that members can park for 90 minutes, but there was NO clear notice requiring us to enter our license plate details. If this is mandatory, why isn’t it clearly communicated at the entrance or inside the gym? This feels like a money trap rather than a fair parking policy. A simple, well-placed sign could have prevented this issue. Instead, members are being unfairly fined for something that was never properly communicated. Extremely disappointed in both CityFitness and the parking management.

Negative experience: Parking fine for over staying the 30 minute limit, completely unreasonable. You have to enter your details every single time to extend your stay to 90 minutes and if you forget once, its an $85 fine.

Negative experience: Good gym, plenty of space. Clean. Everyone wears headphones because the music is shit and loud but even with noise cancelling headphones can’t shut it out

Negative experience: I am changing my review to one star and looking for a new gym. I have been registering my vehicle on the tablet as advised, yet I continue to receive monthly letters for parking breaches. I've been overseas for a month, and guess what? I received yet another breach notice—it's clear they enjoy my monthly appeals! This has been an absolute waste of my time and energy.

Positive experience: Busy when I get to go around 7.30pm but gets quieter towards the end at 8.30-9. Lots of equipment ranging for older to new machines but there's always something to do

Fantastic experience: Great Gym. Very inviting. Nobody judges, everyone there doing their own thing. I feel very comfortable going to this gym. They also have great personal trainers if you would like a program set up for you.

Negative experience: Such a hostile environment with no happy vibe to be found in the atmosphere. The staff were being racist and only letting white people film in the gym but bcos I’m Māori they wouldn’t allow it? WHAT! Better remember whose land you are on! it felt very much like I was back in the segregated days and only whites were allowed here! Will be changing gyms ASAP! And I hope you sort this issue out CITY FITNESS shame on you!!!!!!

Positive experience: Sauna is permanently closed and getting a carpark at peak times can be difficult. Still probably the best option in the CBD. Membership price is very reasonable.

Fantastic experience: Did a day pass as in NP for a few days for a break. Decent sized gym and plenty of machines and free weights. Parking was good but I did go just after 5am so not sure what its like later. Only slight grumble is the dumb bells only go to 40kgs but overall great gym and friendly staff.

I love love love the Centergy class and have been going along to this a few times a week over the past 3 years. Highly recommended if you are after variety, classes and a great value for money gym.

Would give it 5 stars, but it lacks a bit of equipment. - Only 2 x squat racks that are always being used. - Only 1 x pull up bar that isn't very good Other good additions would be to have an assualt bike, an assault treadmill, sturdy pull up bars bolted to wall, a couple power cages, and separate Olympic bars so you don't have to remove them from other racks/equipment.

Fantastic experience: Great gym. There are it’s busy times but if you work it out right you can end up going there and there is hardly anyone if that’s your thing, also they always running classes if you want the group thing too
