Negative experience: My son attended a free trial lesson, but he was not welcomed at all. The instructor completely ignored him and went ahead with the lesson as if he wasn’t there. I have never experienced anything like this elsewhere. On top of that, no one seemed to understand what Taekwondo really is or the respect that is meant to be shown towards it. What was happening there felt like a completely different sport. What shocked me the most was that, as we were leaving, a racially discriminatory remark was made towards us. This was extremely unpleasant and deeply upsetting.

Fantastic experience: Highly recommended! Martial arts is not something that, as a family, we are familiar with, but still, these guys make us parents want to join the class! The perfect combination of fun and discipline, kids enjoy the sport and develop valuable life skills. Mrs Pounds, Mr Villiers and Mr Richie are just the best! Thank you!

Fantastic experience: We are as a family training 7 days a week at Van Roon Martial Arts in vraity of sport disciplines and just love it. Mr Carl Van Roon is a great dedicat and progressive coach.

Fantastic experience: This place is great for all belts. No matter what level you are, there’s always a place for you. No matter what, Van Roon Martial Arts embodies hard work and discipline. Whether your considering this for your child, or yourself, there is a place for all ages. VRMA, Van Roon Martial Arts is an amazing achievement, and coming here is one of the best things you could ever do. There is a class for everything, Kickboxing and Taekwondo have multiple sections or times, so it can be as accessible as possible. From kindergarteners to professionals, there is a wide range of possibilities. There are great coaches, who will push you to be the strongest you can be. There are so many notable features of this dojo, but it would be hard to name them. VRMA is a great place for beginners, experienced and anywhere in between. Hope you can check it out. :)

Fantastic experience: VRMA is A1+++ in every respect. Carl and his team of amazing, encouraging coaches have created an incredible culture that fosters learning and improvement. My kids and husband have added to the types of martial arts they practice over the years. These disciplines are fantastic for developing physical and mental resilience, as well as good values and strength of character. We feel so lucky to have found VRMA and I couldn’t recommend them more highly to anyone, whatever their level. Well done and huge thanks, VRMA, on bringing out the best in all your students. And Linxi and Marney, your work does not go unnoticed and is also hugely appreciated!

Fantastic experience: This place is amazing for starting off to being A black belt or to a white belt or somewhere in the middle, they have a class for everything and have amazing coach’s, they can be harsh sometimes but that’s what helps you get better by pushing yourself. Mr Glover is the best coach but has disappeared. The school holiday program is amazing and I loved it and it would be fun for people who don’t do martial arts too. The sparring squad is also quite good.

Fantastic experience: VRMA is a brilliant club with an amazing culture. VRMA has created a world class martial arts training environment.

Negative experience: Their Taekwondo class for kids should be more professional. The class always starts bit late like 3mins then it finished 2mins earlier than given class hour. Also, I wonder if they have a qualified curriculum. Because sometimes their class looks like a gym class at primary school rather than Taekwondo class. Hope the kids can learn more skills involved Taekwondo. One more thing, the inside is too hot in summer. They need to install air conditioners both waiting room and class room though have one small fan for each spaces but still tooo warm.

Your professionalism, friendliness, and sense of humour made the workshop enjoyable for both kids and parents. Everyone took home all the moves they learned and had a great time. Fantastic experience: My two children have been training at VRMA for nearly 4 years now and have made such massive progress since making the move to the club. The instructors love what they do and pass on their expertise and enthusiasm, and really inspire the kids. My kids have really enjoyed learning several different martial arts at the club too, taking classes in Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing and Tricking. But they've learnt so much more than just the technical skills, gaining confidence, friendships, fitness, flexibility and a passion for activities that they love. I wouldn't have them train anywhere else.

Fantastic experience: I've joined the Dojang in January this year and couldn't have made a better choice! Mr Van Roon leads his classes by example with skill, discipline, passion and a hint of humour here and there that keeps it fun; the syllabus for Taekwon-do used at VRMA sets it apart by delivering a perfect balance integrating some innovation to the traditional martial art. I follow the Taekwondo, kickboxing, mma and tricking classes and the knowledge and skills of Mr Van Roon and all the coaches is indisputable and, as student, you can expect to be pushed to your limits while also feeling supported all the way. I always leave the classes inspired, satisfied and somehow energised even if very sweaty and out of breath . All the staff including Linxi at reception and Marni working behind the scenes are kind and always helpful with any needs and the whole space gets treated with respect: it's always clean and smells nice (which seems a given, but it's actually pretty rare in gyms )

I find the coaches and instructors skilled ,Knowledgeable, Discipline, and wanting to get the best out of each student no matter what skill level. The selection of martial Art disciplines range from International TaeKwon Do,kickboxing grassroots, K1, mixed Martial Arts. Sparring squads for competition, Strength and Conditioning class. Tricking class in all age groups to chose from competing, just for fitness, learn a self defence skill to high performance athlete training. The facilities are clean , Tidy with a main training area then also a training area upstairs.own weights gym room for personal training available. The staff are welcoming, energetic, passionate, knowledgeable and inviting to help you achieve your goals.
