Fantastic experience: Anita is one of the best dance teachers and schools in upper hutt. She has so much passion and love for each and individual student. She greets them all with a big smile and hug. I am so pleased I changed the dance school for my daughter She has achieved so much since ❤️

Positive experience: Anita's Dance Academy in the Hutt Valley is undoubtedly a gem in the world of performing arts, and my recent visit to this renowned establishment left me thoroughly impressed. While the academy is primarily known for its positive environment and high-quality teaching in various dance forms such as ballet, jazz, tap, contemporary, hip hop, and acrobatic dance, my experience there was quite unique. I attended an event featuring an ensemble that specializes in traditional "ethno" folk music from the Balkans and Europe. The group's repertoire spans a rich cultural tapestry, encompassing music from Serbia, Russia, Macedonia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Romania, Poland, Turkey, Bosnia, Romany, and Greece. What stood out was the ensemble's commitment to delivering unique and original arrangements, showcasing a range of emotions from melodic and melancholic to rousing and rhythmic. The performance itself was a mesmerizing journey through the heart of Eastern European and Balkan traditions. Some pieces were presented à capella or with minimal percussion accompaniment, allowing the raw beauty of the vocals to shine through. The intimate atmosphere at Anita's Dance Academy provided the perfect setting for this cultural showcase. The academy's commitment to fostering a positive environment clearly extends beyond the realm of dance, as evidenced by the diverse and culturally rich events hosted within its walls.

Positive experience: Yoga classes are so relaxing

Fantastic experience: I absolutely love the line dancing classes. I just wish they had a evening class as well and more than just once a week. I'm sure a lot more people will go if it wasn't so early during the day.

Fantastic experience: Excellent ambience. Anita's Dance Academy has two venues, a large dance floor plus a smaller upstairs room suitable for private group tuition or as a dance rehearsal space that can be reserved. Ballet classes for children through to advanced pupils are regularly held on the main dance floor and there are also weekly evening classes on Thursdays in modern and ballroom dancing. This is a friendly atmosphere, run by experienced staff. My wife and I have attended classes here for many years.
