Fantastic experience: I come to this pool alot with my best friend and we both LOVE jumping off the diving bored in the big pool, this is an amazing place to go swimming and its near my house so not far to walk aswell,

Fantastic experience: We do our son's swimming lessons there. The people are friendly the facilities are clean and functional and it's not as busy as the Lido. Would highly recommend.

Negative experience: Very disappointing pool. Poor staff training and obvious lack of staff morale. They are very rude and culturally ignorant. I was told the pool closes at 7 pm. At 6.30 pm on 5th May 2022, the changing room for children is closed because the staff needs to finish early and go home. I was directed to use the adults changing room to change a child that is under 4. The adult changing room has no privacy, so I took my children home in their wet swimming wears. My son called his behaviour silly, of course, it was silly. The staff member is more interested in leaving work early than following the time set for their operations. On a different note, I was told children cannot swim in the empty space while the swimming lesson is ongoing. On different visits, I noticed that children were swimming in the same space that I was told children are not allowed to swim when lessons are in progress. It was clear to me that the unruled staff member is racially ignorant and have no sensible justification for his behaviour. Overall, I think the poor quality is a result of poor management who could not provide its employees with basic training, attract sensible job applicants, and support the service they promised to provide for 20 minutes of weekly training for $15. Is indeed appalling as one of the other reviewers here stated.

Fantastic experience: I had dropped off a couple of boys to the pool as there was a Manawatu Swimming Champs on there. They were cheering on a friend of theirs. I came back a bit later to pick them up, scanned in, and looked for them. It is a good sized complex for the use by the public and the local schools as well. Well run by the CLM Staff.

Negative experience: A great pool and facility but it is very frustrating to drive across to find the one available public lane has been commandeered by a couple of people who just want to walk and talk. Some of us actually want to SWIM believe it or not and pay good money for the privilege. Some control would be great!

Fantastic experience: Had the best experience with Kaiya! Absolutely helped my daughters conquer their worries about swimming. She made them feel safe and always encouraged them to take those risks while always being there ready to step in if needed. Would highly recommend her as an instructor and all the other instructors to help children learn to swim. Thanks Kaiya our daughters appreciate what you have done for them!

Negative experience: Absolutely horrific experience at this place. The swimming instructor Kaiya nearly drowned my 3 year old twice on his first swimming class! Upon confronting she advised she looks after 6 children at once. She could not handle 2 at a time 6 is way out of her reach. My son has been put off from that incident thanks to Kaiya. Very unprofessional and rude service, no parent should trust this instructor with their child. A complaint was emailed to the manager who was very apologetic but like all management, was not followed up at all. This person "Kaiya" working here does not know how to work with children. Just a warning to the local parents.

Negative experience: Disappointed lanes a issue, cramped busy unavailable, unhelpful staff. Noisey and chaotic high risk of something or somebody being harmed

Positive experience: It's small. However it has a toddler 'cove'; a child pool, and a lap pool. The lap pool has a gradual ramp & diving blocks

Fantastic experience: Awesome facilities for toddler+ and awesome opportunity to swim free with my little ones. I love the childrens pools or the smaller size, my daughter can touch the ground. Unlike the Lido where there toddler pool is too small and the bigger pool with the lazy river is a bit too deep, so Freyberg is our go to now! With the option of the in-between pool depths. Love it

Fantastic experience: Friendly staff and the pool is large enough for babies, toddlers and young children to all swim with each other and not interfere with each other.

Positive experience: Pool is great but they often close off kids pools for lessons without warning when you come in. They should let you know pools will be closed at a set time or offer a discount. Facilities are very clean

Negative experience: Half the pool is closed the other half is freezing and too deep for anyone under 6. The female change rooms are closed and there are work men right outside the door of the makeshift change room that can see in as you are not allowed to lock the door. Completely disappointing today.

Fantastic experience: Very well organised place for swimming lessons, had plenty of timetable options and teachers great with the kids, good selection to togs to buy too, good deals when they have their specials on togs too.

Positive experience: This is pool of choice for winter if wanting to do laps or aqua aerobics.The indoor pool is 25 m and I , to date have never had a lane issue. The staff are approachable and knowledgeable.There is a wheelchair ramp For the main pool .Also available are kick boards but I have not noticed any water dumbbells available to use. Would be handy to use after lane swimming and for those doing rehab. The main letdown for the pool is the changing rooms .Outdated-hairdryer would be good and cubicles are too small with no where to put clothes.A hang all on door would be good.

Fantastic experience: Freyberg pool is my go to pool. The staff are really interested in making your visit each and every time a meaningful one. Everyone is so welcoming and their knowledge and helpful suggestions to make your visit worth going back. You meet up with other regulars and it's just a really nice place to go.
