Sulzberger Indoor Cricket Centre

Located in the heart of New Plymouth, the Sulzberger Indoor Cricket Centre serves as the premier hub for cricket development in the Taranaki region. Operated by the Taranaki Cricket Association, this state-of-the-art facility has undergone a significant transformation, recently completing a major extension and upgrade project that has elevated its standards to support players of all ages and skill levels.

The Centre offers a comprehensive range of cricket programs designed to foster a love for the game from a young age. Through the Smash Play Junior Hubs, children in Years 1–4 can enjoy free, game-based cricket sessions across multiple locations, including New Plymouth. For older students, the Centre hosts specialized competitions such as the new Pairs Cricket for Year 5–8 girls and various inter-school challenges, ensuring that young athletes have structured pathways to progress in the sport.

Beyond youth development, the Sulzberger Indoor Centre is a vital venue for competitive cricket in the region. It hosts Senior Cricket fixtures, Twilight Cricket matches, and Representative matches for Taranaki’s Men’s, Women’s, and Year Group teams. The facility is also home to veteran cricket initiatives, including Over-40s and Over-50s representative teams that compete in the Central Districts region.

Whether you are a young cricketer taking your first steps, a competitive player striving for regional selection, or a coach seeking a professional environment, the Sulzberger Indoor Cricket Centre provides the ideal setting to develop your skills.
