Negative experience: Big parts of the lining in the wave and small circle pool are missing leaving exposed concrete and exposed protruding vents above the floor level. The junior learn to swim pool was closed when it was meant to be open, when asked they couldn't open it due to a lack of staff. Only took my kids there so they could practice swimming in the junior pool, complete waste of time and money!

Positive experience: Love taking out 2 year old to the pool but wow the place is falling to bits! Heaps of tiles missing and lifting in the wave pool! Staff are largely pleasant which saves the experience but wow the maintenance is lacking

Negative experience: Nice pool and friendly staff but never saw so many people with mobile phones in the pool area that should not be allowed.

Positive experience: My Child has swimming lessons here, its ok. They don't really "drive" the kids to do better. Sometimes I wonder why I enrolled. As far as the facilities, its great and always clean. The change rooms are also cleaned ALL the time.

Fantastic experience: Cheap showers only option if you're on a campervan trip and just need to get clean. Great after Rakiura track. Even have family showers so if you are sharing soap/shampoo/towel you don't have to wait turns. Very convenient stop.

Positive experience: Great space to go and spend some time in the weekend. Sunday mornings are popular with families and young children this is when we usually go as it's fairly quiet then . It would be nice if there was more play equipment /activities available at this time. It is an average price these days specially if only swimming for a short time (with a baby) costs $12 for 2 adults 1 baby to swim but a great way to get out of the house. It is frustrating when single people of adult couples use the family change rooms instead of standard ones as there can be a bit of a wait for family change rooms which isn't great with a cold wet baby. Other than that, we enjoy regular visits and happy to see to see it is usually very clean and tidy .

Positive experience: Great place for family fun. They charge extra for a wrist band that let's you on the water slide which we paid for. When we get to the slide there are a lot of teen kids with out the wrist band hogging the inflatables. My family waited more than 5 minutes for an inflatable. Would be good if the lifeguard supervising the slides could have given us priority otherwise what's the point of paying a few dollars per person to ride the slides if anyone can go on.

Negative experience: I ordered things from the canteen amd got scamed order 2x chips cheese and gravy and one chicken and chips only got 1 chips cheeses and grave amd one chicken and chips and that took 30 min to get

Negative experience: I don't understand why you wouldn't allow people under 18 in the cold Plunge or Spa, except that there is little reason to go there

Fantastic experience: A multifunctional swimming pool, I love they have everything: sauna, cold pool… But when I arrived they have split the lanes, make it 25m. When it approach close time, they make it back to 50m, anyway I’m glad that I did swimming in 50m lane. And I like their lanes have variety water depth: 1m-3m-5m.

Fantastic experience: Great indoor swimming facilities for kids of all ages. Big water slides, shallow pool for infants, diving boards, hot spa, sauna and a cold plunge pool for the brave.

Negative experience: Only one pool to play in. The waterslides have terrible seams that really bump as you slide past. I went with my 2 kids and there is literally nowhere that they were allowed to physically jump into the water and I asked after they kept getting told off. Am I crazy or is this meant to be "Splash" palace Where's the splash?

Positive experience: Really warm pools with good changing facilities and lockers available. Offers swimming experiences for a range of ages and swimming abilities. They also offer swimming lessons and a few swimming clubs use the facilities. Holiday programmes are offered. Inexpensive way to entertain the kids. There are three slides that are fun - 2 body slides and 1 with inflatable tubes.

Positive experience: Great pool. There is swimming pool for serious swimmers and ofcourse a pool.for kids. Kids pool has really shallow part for those little little ones. And bottom of the pool until 900mm is soft. The deepest part is 1.5m deep. There are some sprinklers going and falling water. Toys available. You can buy (3$) or bring your own padlock to lock your things in a lockup. If your child is 6 or younger you will need to pay only for a child because they will ask you to look after your child in a pool. On a morning there will be some real wave sessions - awesome experience for some. For older kids- around the lunchtime they are setting up some water attraction. Also for those who are at least 120cm tall- there are two big slides available

Negative experience: Found the lifeguards to be very lazy although all they were doing was standing around , the last 3 times we have been here we’ve asked to open the diving board quickly, only asking for 5 minutes of fun and every time told us no , even though the pool is empty and unbooked , feel as if the lifeguard could not be bothered just walking over and unlocking the gate , pathetic especially when this is what we come for , very frustrating

Negative experience: Hi there me and my kids went to splash palace yesterday, my youngest and I had to get out soon after we were in there as the water was freezing, this has happened everytime we go, instead of enjoying it her lips get purple and she's shiriving the whole time this was in the wave pool, also I got some loaded wedges and the wedges were burnt I couldn't even eat it and the bacon was half raw. This annoyed me as they were $12 and wernt enjoyable at all.

Negative experience: Very crowded and small facility. With sport on it was even worse especially trying to get stuff in and out of lockers with people standing in front of them. Website says waves and sprays from 4pm but this didn't happen. Pool designed for toddlers was colder than expected and seems unsafe with the lower wall leading to a drop. Floor of leisure pool had grainy bits that I had to wipe off my feet constantly. Changing rooms average. Sign saying if you use the showers please tell someone so they can clean it. .Does this mean it's only cleaned if someone says they have used it? I also dislike that they don't enforce rules with everyone. Some days there are kids in the spa and toddlers on the slides. And no life guards in the swim school pool area yet kids play fighting and pushing each other under. Definitely not a family friendly pool and not the best in the south island

Positive experience: First visit. Went into the leisure pool and found the tiled bottom very slippery. Have since bought aqua shoes so I can be safer.

Positive experience: Would be improved significantly if they had lane availability on the website like most other towns swimming pools. Would really help to be able to plan to visit at quieter times when there are no squad bookings.

Negative experience: My grandson was removed from the waterslide as other children were mucking around. He was not part of the group as he did not know the others. But he lost his band anyway even after he told staff he didn't know them and he was not part of it. He was very upset about it.

Fantastic experience: What an awesome place. Such an amazing facility. Went daily over the week I was in Invercargill. Facilities were clean and tidy, staff always welcoming and greeted you with a warm smile. Fantastic range of pools, a really ka pai Cafe, amazing sauna, spa and plunge pool. Well worth a visit if your in Invercargill, either as a Single, Couple, Family Group, you'll love it.

Positive experience: The slide and diving boards are fun. It’s clean, bright, and good family fun! Also good for seeing heavies with tattoos. I thought crime bosses had their own boss-hangouts/evil lairs? We arrived three and a half hours before closing time. We rode the slide for a while and then tried the diving boards(kids and I). With no explanation, and seemingly no reason, the slides and the diving boards were closed for the last two hours. The “supervisor “ would not open them and did not give an explanation, when queried. We were quite disappointed and left early as wading around in highly chlorinated water only offers so much satisfaction. Happily the tough-guys could easily by pass the closed signs on the cold tub, so they had theirs. I don’t know if it’s always like this, as that was our first visit, and probably last. Too bad! It’s a great place with friendly staff and a nice facility! But, Dunedin keeps the slide open all the time and the diving board most of the time. And Gore has a nice pool for laps and chlorine marination.

Negative experience: I rang up last night for my daughter to go swimming in the morning as I got there I drive from out of town about 40 km and we went to the reception they told us that there were to many people I'm going to make them pay for my petrol cost if no luck then I'm taking them to court.

Fantastic experience: The weather in invercargill can be a challenge. The more undercover things we have to do the better our quality of life. Splash Palace, with all the recent upgrades, is amazing. Three hydro slides, a swim-school pool, great staff and affordable nice food. I’m proud to be a Southlander, living in the roaring 40s of our planet. And I am proud of the vision behind Splash Palace.

Fantastic experience: Came down from Jaffa land Tamaki-mākaurau to give the deep south a bit culture thought everyone below wellington was racist Karen but quite to my suprise beautiful staff beautiful people love love love to all couldn't speak more highly of this facility the people and Murihiku itself one my favourite pools in Aotearoa and I've been to a few from Whāngarei to Invercargill.

Fantastic experience: Great place to go and spend hours. Diving boards or learners pool aren't open as much as they could be through the holidays especially when you have a few younger ones to keep an eye on in shallower water that don't always like staying put or like to follow older ones to Deepwater. Hydroslide open till 6pm school holidays. Wave pool waves get bigger close to 7pm and on its awesome then! Enough floaties around. Could do with some more inflatables. Sauna whirl pool and plunge pool are great. Helpful staff but some younger ones could do with a class dealing in customer relations.

Fantastic experience: This is our first time in Splash palace, we love the the kids pool, My son had a great time in the 3 slides.

Negative experience: Had bad experience today in pool. in the women's changing room a guy cleaner came in, at that time I only used a towel and was about to put on my underwear. really annoyed me. I feel so really bad they should be makesure nobody there before entering. Be careful ladies!

Fantastic experience: Awesome aquatic centre in Invercargill. Best to buy a family pass, if going with the family. There is a warm splash/wave pool, swimming lanes, diving boards, spa, sauna and Hydro-slides. There is a cafe on site as well, but it may have different operating hours

Fantastic experience: Splash Palace is a great facility. Have just started to get back into swimming after a long time of not doing regular swimming.. Just doing laps in the slow lane for a start. How is it best to deal with a very competent swimmer who was doing laps today in the slow lane. It was difficult to deal with

Positive experience: Ok for the price. A bit dissapointed with the wave. So small we hardly feel anything. My boys do enjoy jumping from the 2 metre plank. The sauna n swirling pool is good for adult. Putting the basketball ring is a great idea for fun...

Negative experience: Disappointing trip to try the new hydroslides. New slides have very rough joints so expect to come out a bit red. Queues move very slowly and the area of the building where you queue is freezing cold so lots of very cold shivering people waiting for a slide that didn't really stack up to all the hype. Poolside seating is a joke, about 6 tiny tables with a few chairs each couldn't cater for the multitude of parents watching their kids swimming. Disappointed.

Positive experience: Pricey for a pool and the only one I have been to with a separate charge for the slide. Also when we reported to staff that there was a small girl (around 5) in the men's changing room there was no response bit poor. Other poolside staff were lovely however small girl in the mens us a problem then my daughter said there were boys in the girls changing room. There are family facilities available

Positive experience: Was a great time for me and my son. Being that neither of us were confident in the water I was skeptical about different parts of the pool. But we managed thru everything with having the foam pads for support and plenty of life guards on the look out. The life guard that was on duty at the hydroslide however was not 100%attentive and didn't look as tho he was paying attention as to who was going down. I just think they should never assume just because it's an adult that the person is safe. Overall a great pool with plenty to keep families entertained
